The Living Landscape

The landscape is imagined as something that changes with the house rather than simply surrounds it. Trees shed and return, foliage shifts colour, grasses move and dry, water changes with light, and shadows travel across surfaces through the day. Each garden captures a different expression of time — allowing the residence to be experienced differently across morning and evening, summer and winter, growth and dormancy. The landscape is never a finished composition; its changing character becomes part of the architecture.
